And you thought if Lalu was rearing his cows with Taxpayer money he was doing something extra ordinary!….

If an Indian Minister can rear his cattle with my tax money, why can’t a british minister rear ducks

“Britain’s strictures to foreign governments are being mocked from Iran to the Turks and Caicos Islands, as world leaders seize on stories about MPs’ bloated expenses claims as evidence of moral decay in the UK. Accounts of MPs billing the taxpayer for duck houses and moat cleaning have been lapped up around the world and have posed a problem for British diplomats who have previously been vocal in criticising corruption.Mark Malloch-Brown, the foreign office minister, deleted sections of a speech he gave in Mozambique this month, fearing that his comments on higher standards of governance might be greeted with scorn. His fears may have been justified, judging by the apparent delight being shown by leaders in recent days over the Westminster expenses scandal. In a speech broadcast last Friday after the disputed June 12 elections, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s supreme leader, said: “Many countries of the world, including western countries, that claim to fight corruption and money-laundering, are corrupt to their core. “You have all heard about the [expenses scandals in the] British government and the parliament. The whole world heard the story and those were just parts of the story.” Britain is being dogged by the expenses affair as it attempts to stamp out corruption in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British overseas territory with a population of 32,000. Ministers are preparing to suspend the islands’ constitution and dissolve its parliament after an official inquiry found signs of “systemic corruption” and “political amorality”.

Has India changed in last 1.5 years….

“India is changing every month…”. When last week in US a fellow Indian travelling from India told me this, I smiled and did not understand this really. Today I do. Its been 5 days since we have landed and each day has bought new experiences. Am happy my nariyal pani(coconut water) still costs 15 to 20 INR. But not apples.

Subway sandwiches are ~105 and Sbarro PIZZA SLICE is ~90.

Mom told me that 10 gulab jamuns costs 150 INR….i can belive that because I know she must have bought the premium ones. Till now my experience is only in food stuff

What about clothes, houses..the other two angles in the triangles of life (Roti, Kapara and Makaan)

I think I will figure it out as soon as I get over my jetlag. But am happy to be back in ………..my india.

We tend to do some things without realizing that we are. Its our nature….but where do we get it from?

Regional? …How come always Chinese are seen as too picky and cheesesparing. Today morning a cab driver went berserk over a toll question.

Gender based?….Women are suppose to be emotional. I will not blame Anitson. The thought of your husband flirting with someone else is so much of a hurt, having to know for sure that he cheated is something I cannot imagine. I don’t think I ever want to watch a Jolie or Brad movie again.

Culture Based?….Indian women tend to work hard and expect appreciation for it. We cannot stop doing either of it.1357154535_94eefec289

Not sure where other things come from like some people talk too much, some crib over everything. I am more interested in knowing about few like some people can really think of out-of-the-box ideas, some can have fun in every situation.

Btw Profession based?….Software engineers always wish everything was on the net. :)

Yes, they do

A good example of it is when Bombay was fighting with terriosts on November 26 2008, one man someone name Datta, said to CNN reportor that Mumbai is “resilient” and there onwards that word was said again and again. Why it got noticed was that before this happened (use of word Resilient ), everyone was just using negative words and I was feeling bad about the image we are leaving of India.

Another set of shocking words that I heard but stuck me later was “Terrorist from Kashmir occupied by India……..”. Hey Kashmir is part of India. We don’t need to occupy what belongs to us.

Lets see how things unfold in hours to come but people words do matter so lets think before..

So it took Steve McCurry & National geographic reporters a couple of months and some Pakistani contacts to find the famous green eyed Afgan Girl who Steve had photographed 17 years ago.

What i wonder is how come US secret service/army/airforce/CIA and other organizations have still not been able to find one Osma Bin Laden :?

afgangirl

Lets see: Finding a girl should be more difficult considering the social norms that restrict girls to show their face to only their family. Osama am sure does not have that advantage.

Aparantly NatGeo used a Pakistani senior new editor and village elders to find this girl. U.S. and Pakistan are allies, (right?) so how come they did not get that advantage.

Irony is that the Senior News Editor was introduced in the programme as one of the few who have interviewed Mr. Laden himself…hmmm so thats a credential!

Nice to see atleast someone can find exactly what they were looking for.

Shopkeepers in India and US seem to have one thing in common. Most of them are unfortunate to have lost their courtesy and manners expected towards customers. I read an interesting piece today that reminded me of my experiences.

What has happened to the salesperson and retailers in the world today.

Not only is this song a classic, the fact that someone animated the story the Amitabh Bachchan was telling is creative :)

……After all I am a software engineer. So on this page I want to share things I wished I could have found easily on the internet but did not. This are tools and utilities that are already created or invented but we just don’t find them when needed.

To prevent others from reinventing the wheel
