India

Finally I can pick up a newspaper and READ it..

finally there a paper that I can leave on table top and not feel ashamed if an elder came in.

There was a time when I lost hope in newspapers. All the white and bright paper was either paid crap or unpaid gossip, either a reporter crying over no-hope situation or a jigsaw with totally unrelated serious piece of news patched to a glam (or copy) pose of a celebrity. Finally i realized that the not so white (dusky or brown) is the right paper to read. What I thought was just financial stuff and might go over my head turned out to be NEWS to my delight.

So if you are also looking for just world news to read then Economic times is the choice. Good job guys….am reading 🙂

Last few days I have been recalling a lot of adventures I have had. Thought I should put them down here for more than anyone but myself to read and savor…..

If you are planning to spend a vacation in US then Newyork is a “Must Do”.

ny There are more reasons to be in NY then anywhere else. Beaches, mountains for skiing, rain, sunshine & (my favorite) snow keep it interesting all round the year. Thats ofcourse if you can manage to see the man made attractions in available time.

Rockefeller, Empire State, Statue of liberty, Roosevelt Island, Times Square, Madame Tussads, Macys flower show, Little Italy, Village, Yankee stadium and more

Has India changed in last 1.5 years….

“India is changing every month…”. When last week in US a fellow Indian travelling from India told me this, I smiled and did not understand this really. Today I do. Its been 5 days since we have landed and each day has bought new experiences. Am happy my nariyal pani(coconut water) still costs 15 to 20 INR. But not apples.

Subway sandwiches are ~105 and Sbarro PIZZA SLICE is ~90.

Mom told me that 10 gulab jamuns costs 150 INR….i can belive that because I know she must have bought the premium ones. Till now my experience is only in food stuff

What about clothes, houses..the other two angles in the triangles of life (Roti, Kapara and Makaan)

I think I will figure it out as soon as I get over my jetlag. But am happy to be back in ………..my india.

Yes, they do

A good example of it is when Bombay was fighting with terriosts on November 26 2008, one man someone name Datta, said to CNN reportor that Mumbai is “resilient” and there onwards that word was said again and again. Why it got noticed was that before this happened (use of word Resilient ), everyone was just using negative words and I was feeling bad about the image we are leaving of India.

Resilience

Another set of shocking words that I heard but stuck me later was “Terrorist from Kashmir occupied by India……..”. Hey Kashmir is part of India. We don’t need to occupy what belongs to us.

Lets see how things unfold in hours to come but people words do matter so lets think before..

In our endeavor to explore, everyday we come across so many things that just change your day.
